  • similar internet or electronic network activity.

Some of this information may constitute personal information under applicable privacy laws.

5. Information We Receive From Other Sources

We may receive personal information from companies that help us operate Steadier Days.

These may include:

  • Shopify;
  • payment processors;
  • email and communication providers;
  • analytics providers;
  • advertising platforms;
  • fraud-prevention providers;
  • customer support services;
  • workflow automation infrastructure;
  • AI service providers;
  • accounting services; and
  • other technical or professional service providers.

For example, Shopify may provide us with information necessary to confirm that an order exists and has been paid.

6. Shopify

Our ecommerce store is hosted and powered by Shopify.

Shopify processes personal information necessary to operate the storefront, cart, checkout, payment functionality, customer accounts, security features, analytics, and related ecommerce services.

Depending on the Shopify services enabled on our store, Shopify may act as our processor or service provider for certain activities and may act independently for certain Shopify services.

If Shopify Network Intelligence or other Enhanced Services are enabled, Shopify may process certain information in connection with those services in accordance with its own privacy terms and applicable customer privacy choices.

You may also have privacy rights that can be exercised directly with Shopify for processing conducted independently by Shopify.

7. Why We Use Personal Information and Our Legal Bases

Where the GDPR or another law requires us to identify a legal basis for processing, we rely on the following bases.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, those interests may include operating our business, securing our systems, preventing fraud, improving our services, protecting our intellectual property, providing efficient customer support, and managing customer relationships.

We consider whether our interests are overridden by your rights and freedoms before relying on this basis.

You may have the right to object to certain processing based on legitimate interests.

8. Digital Product Personalization and Watermarking

Where applicable, we may personalize or watermark digital products with limited customer or order information.

This may include initials, an order identifier, or another limited identifier intended to:

  • identify the licensed copy;
  • discourage unauthorized redistribution;
  • protect our intellectual property; and
  • assist with replacement or support requests.

We do not intentionally embed sensitive personal information in digital products.

9. AI-Assisted Customer Support and Automation

We may use workflow automation and artificial intelligence-assisted technologies as part of our customer support operations.

For example, automated systems may:

  • categorize a support request;
  • summarize a customer's question;
  • determine whether an order lookup may be helpful;
  • retrieve relevant approved support information;
  • prepare an internal support summary; or
  • draft a proposed email response.

Information processed in these workflows may include:

  • your name;
  • email address;
  • order number;
  • order details;
  • products purchased;
  • your support message; and
  • information necessary to resolve your request.

Our intent is to use AI to assist support operations rather than to replace meaningful human oversight where it is needed.

We do not authorize our AI systems to independently:

  • approve refunds;
  • invent order information;
  • make credit decisions;
  • make employment decisions;
  • determine eligibility for essential services;
  • diagnose health conditions; or
  • make other decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.

Where appropriate, AI-generated drafts may be reviewed before being sent.

We do not intentionally use the contents of customer support requests for unrelated targeted advertising.

10. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our service providers may use:

  • cookies;
  • pixels;
  • tags;
  • local storage;
  • advertising identifiers;
  • analytics technologies; and
  • similar technologies.

These may be used for:

  • essential website operation;
  • authentication;
  • remembering preferences;
  • maintaining a shopping cart;
  • checkout;
  • fraud prevention;
  • security;
  • analytics;
  • website improvement;
  • advertising measurement;
  • personalization; and
  • targeted advertising where legally permitted.

Strictly Necessary Technologies

Certain technologies are necessary for our website, cart, checkout, security, and digital services to function.

Where applicable law permits, these technologies may operate without consent.

Analytics and Preference Technologies

We may use technologies to understand how our website performs and how visitors interact with it.

Where consent is required, these technologies will not be activated until consent is obtained.

Advertising and Tracking Technologies

We may use advertising technologies that recognize browsers or devices and help measure or personalize advertising.

Where applicable law requires consent, including for tracking cookies in applicable European jurisdictions, these technologies will not be used before valid consent is obtained.

You can manage applicable preferences through the cookie and privacy controls provided on our website.

Refusing non-essential cookies should not prevent you from purchasing or using the essential functions of our website.

11. European Cookie Consent

For visitors in jurisdictions where prior consent is required for non-essential cookies or tracking technologies, we seek consent before activating those technologies.

Consent must be freely given and can be withdrawn.

Our cookie controls are designed to allow you to reject non-essential technologies and change your preferences.

Functional technologies necessary to provide a service you requested may operate without consent where permitted by law.

12. Advertising, Sale, Sharing and Targeted Advertising

We do not sell personal information in exchange for money.

However, privacy laws in some U.S. states define terms such as “sale,” “sharing,” or “targeted advertising” broadly.

For example, making information such as cookie identifiers, device identifiers, browsing activity, commercial information, or advertising identifiers available to an advertising partner may constitute:

  • a “sale”;
  • “sharing”;
  • cross-context behavioral advertising; or
  • targeted advertising

under certain laws even if we do not receive money in exchange.

Where these laws apply, you may have a right to opt out.

Our website may provide a Your Privacy Choices, Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information, data-sharing opt-out, or similar privacy control where required.

13. Global Privacy Control

Where required by applicable law and supported by our systems, we recognize qualifying browser-based universal opt-out preference signals, including Global Privacy Control (“GPC”), as an opt-out request for covered sale, sharing, or targeted advertising activities.

An ordinary browser “Do Not Track” setting is different from a legally recognized universal opt-out signal.

Because there is no generally applicable standard requiring a response to ordinary Do Not Track signals, we do not necessarily respond to them unless required by law.

14. How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information to companies or individuals that provide services to us.

  • comply with applicable laws;
  • comply with legal proceedings or court orders;
  • respond to legally valid regulatory or government requests;
  • investigate fraud or security incidents;
  • enforce our agreements;
  • establish, exercise, or defend legal claims;
  • protect our customers;
  • protect Steadier Days or our business; or
  • protect the rights, property, or safety of another person.

If our business is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, bankruptcy, transfer of assets, or similar corporate transaction, personal information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to applicable legal requirements.

16. Processors and Service Providers

Where required by the GDPR or other applicable law, we enter into contractual arrangements with processors or service providers concerning the processing of personal information.

We seek to use service providers that provide appropriate safeguards for personal information.

Service providers may use subprocessors where permitted by their agreements and applicable law.

17. International Data Transfers

We are established in the Netherlands, but some of our service providers may process personal information in the United States or other countries outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”).

Where the GDPR requires a mechanism for an international transfer, we use or rely on an appropriate legal safeguard such as:

  • an adequacy decision adopted by the European Commission;
  • the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where applicable to an eligible and certified recipient;
  • Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission;
  • Binding Corporate Rules where applicable;
  • another legally recognized transfer mechanism; or
  • a statutory derogation where legally permitted.

Where appropriate, additional safeguards may be used to protect transferred personal information.

You may contact team@steadierdays.com if you would like additional information about safeguards relevant to your personal information.

18. Data Retention

We do not intend to retain identifiable personal information indefinitely.

How long information is retained depends on why it was collected, legal obligations, contractual requirements, security needs, disputes, and technical constraints.

Our general retention approach is as follows.

Information Typical retention approach
Order, invoice and core financial records Generally at least 7 years where required by Dutch tax and accounting law
Records subject to applicable EU VAT / One Stop Shop retention obligations Up to 10 years where legally required
Customer account information While the account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter unless deletion is appropriate
Digital product entitlement information For as long as reasonably necessary to verify purchases, provide promised access or replacements, and maintain transaction records
Customer support messages For as long as necessary to resolve the request and thereafter for a reasonable period for quality, dispute, fraud, and legal recordkeeping
Refund and dispute information For as long as necessary to handle the dispute and applicable statutory limitation periods
Marketing information Until you unsubscribe, consent is withdrawn, or the information is no longer necessary
Marketing suppression records As long as reasonably necessary to ensure we continue to respect an unsubscribe request
Cookie and analytics information According to the applicable cookie duration, consent choice, provider configuration, and business purpose
Security and fraud information For as long as reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, investigation, and legal claims
Privacy request records For a reasonable period necessary to demonstrate compliance and address related disputes

Where information is no longer required, we may delete it, anonymize it, or deidentify it.

19. Deidentified and Aggregated Information

We may create statistical, aggregated, or deidentified information that cannot reasonably be linked to an identifiable individual.

We may use such information for:

  • analytics;
  • business planning;
  • product improvement;
  • website improvement;
  • security; and
  • other lawful purposes.

Where applicable law requires it, we maintain deidentified information in deidentified form and do not attempt to reidentify it except where legally permitted to test or verify deidentification processes.

20. Special Categories and Sensitive Personal Information

We do not intentionally collect or request special-category personal data under the GDPR or sensitive personal information under applicable U.S. privacy laws through the ordinary operation of Steadier Days.

This includes information concerning:

  • health;
  • genetics;
  • biometrics used for identification;
  • racial or ethnic origin;
  • political opinions;
  • religious or philosophical beliefs;
  • trade-union membership; or
  • sex life or sexual orientation.

Please do not provide this information in free-form support messages.

If sensitive information is provided to us unexpectedly, we will seek to limit processing to what is necessary and legally permitted and may delete it where it is not required.

We do not use sensitive personal information for targeted advertising.

21. Consumer Health Data

Steadier Days provides educational parenting information. We are not a medical provider, mental-health provider, healthcare facility, or health-insurance provider.

Our website and services are not intended to collect medical records, diagnoses, treatment records, prescriptions, or detailed consumer health information.

Because customers may discuss family wellbeing when contacting us, they could voluntarily provide information that certain laws characterize as consumer health data.

We ask customers not to provide health information unless genuinely necessary to resolve their request.

If we receive consumer health information:

  • we do not sell it for money;
  • we do not intentionally use it for targeted advertising;
  • we do not intentionally use it to infer a health condition for advertising;
  • we seek to restrict its use to providing the requested service, security, legal compliance, or another legally permitted purpose; and
  • where applicable law requires separate consent before collection or sharing, we will seek that consent.

Residents of jurisdictions with specific consumer-health-data laws may have additional rights concerning covered health data.

22. Email Communications

We may send transactional or relationship communications concerning:

  • orders;
  • payments;
  • digital product access;
  • account security;
  • support requests;
  • refunds;
  • updates necessary to administer a purchase; and
  • other communications associated with an existing transaction.

We may also send marketing communications where legally permitted.

Where consent is required, we will seek appropriate consent.

Every marketing email sent by us is intended to include an appropriate unsubscribe mechanism where required.

You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.

Unsubscribing from promotional email will not prevent us from sending transactional communications necessary to administer an order or respond to your request.

We maintain records necessary to honor marketing opt-outs.

23. Security

We use reasonable technical, organizational, and administrative measures designed to protect personal information against:

  • accidental loss;
  • unauthorized disclosure;
  • misuse;
  • alteration;
  • unauthorized access; and
  • destruction.

Measures may include:

  • authentication;
  • access restrictions;
  • secure network connections;
  • service-provider security controls;
  • password protections;
  • data minimization;
  • access based on operational need; and
  • security monitoring.

No internet transmission, cloud platform, storage system, or website can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

If a personal-data breach occurs, we will investigate and provide notifications to authorities and affected individuals where required by applicable law.

24. Your GDPR and EEA Privacy Rights

Because our business is established in the Netherlands, processing carried out in the context of our establishment is subject to the GDPR where applicable.

Under the GDPR, you may have the following rights.

Right of Access

You may ask whether we process personal information about you and request access to that information.

Right to Rectification

This right is not absolute. We may retain information where required by law or where another lawful exception applies.

You may object to processing based on legitimate interests in circumstances provided by law.

You may object at any time to processing of your personal information for direct marketing.

Right to Withdraw Consent

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing that occurred before consent was withdrawn.

Rights Concerning Automated Decision-Making

Where applicable, you have rights relating to decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects or similarly significantly affect you.

As described above, Steadier Days does not currently use AI support tools to make such decisions.

Right to Lodge a Complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority.

Because our business is established in the Netherlands, you may contact the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, the Dutch Data Protection Authority.

You may also be entitled to complain to the supervisory authority in the EEA country where you live or work or where you believe an infringement occurred.

25. Exercising GDPR Rights

You may submit a privacy request by emailing:

team@steadierdays.com

Please describe the right you wish to exercise and provide sufficient information for us to understand your request.

We may request additional information where reasonably necessary to verify your identity.

We will generally respond to GDPR requests within one month of receipt.

Where permitted due to complexity or number of requests, that period may be extended by up to two additional months. If we require an extension, we will inform you within the initial one-month period.

Privacy requests are generally handled without charge, although applicable law allows limited exceptions for manifestly unfounded or excessive requests.
